There are many air and ferry connections between Athens and the Greek Islands (from both Piraeus and other ports), and also a state-of-the-art railway network and various KTEL buses that connect Athens to the Mainland. The visitor of Athens has the ''luxury'' to go to the most enchanting nearby destinations such as Sounio, Nafplio, or Epidaurus, as well as to the islands of the Saronic Gulf such as Aegina, Agistri, Poros, Hydra, and Spetses.
